A Sunshine Coast athlete and movie director has been thrown in the international spotlight after guest starring on a new Netflix series. Jane Larkin hopes her role in "Boy Swallows Universe" will only be the start of her acting career, as she prepares to release her own local production.

She's worked alongside author Trent Dalton and well-known actress Phoebe Tonkin playing a troubled young woman.

It's one of her biggest breaks yet, after roles in "Thirteen Lives" and "Young Rock", but before she started acting Jane's spotlight started with track sprints."You have to be able to utilise all your training and everything and then perform in a high pressure environment." - Jane Larkin
Now she's using all of her talents by producing, directing, and starring in her own independent film - "The Edge".
"And it's loosely based off my own experience in elite track and field competition."
And keep your eyes peeled, as soon Jane may be soon on streaming service, Stan.
"I mean, the Olympics are this year, so they might be trying to release it with that, and hopefully we'll see it soon." - Jane Larkin
